Clinical+Cosmetic+Resconstructive Expo 2016

For the first time last week on October 6th, I attended the ‘CCR Expo‘ with Shine Medical owner, Dr OlhaVorodukhina at the Olympia, in London. It was a fairly early start, to say the least and we were London bound by 5.30am. After a pit stop for some much needed breakfast, we headed into the Olympia at 9am, as Dr. Olha was speaking on the Practice Management stage for ‘Getting Started In Aesthetics’ at 9.30am.

On arrival, I was astonished by how many exhibitors there were inside the centre. There were a huge, vast amount and I couldn’t wait to have a look round later on, but first, it was time to see Dr. Olha give her talk.

The seating area was very busy, and as she spoke many people were talking notes on her points on how to get started in aesthetics. Covering topics from how to advertise your business, the types of patients you may get, and most of all, how to keep them! The talk went very well, with plenty of people asking questions at the end. Dr.Olha was also able to speak about a fantastic new business venture that she is a part of. This platforms enables only trusted practitioners, with only the highest standards of qualifications may sign up. It offers them a chance to create their own ‘website, within a website’ letting them speak directly to potential patients, create a blog, addphotographs and videos, plus much, much more. After the first talk, we had a little time to go and look around at the exhibition stands. Because I’m fairly new to this industry, I have to admit, I was worried that I wouldn’t really know what I was looking it, or what people were talking about. However, when visiting the exhibitors with Dr.Olha, and speaking about products I found that I actually knew more than I thought and they explained in quite a lot of detail which enabled me to understand further. The girls at the Cosmetic Courses stand were lovely. Dr Olha teaches via Cosmetic Courses, so she already knew them, but this was the first time I had come into association with the company.

At 11.45am it was time for the next stage talk, and this time Dr. Olha was speaking on behalf of Cosmetic Courses, about one of our favourite topics, lip augmentation! This proved to be a VERY popular topic with many of the attendees, and we had standing room only for this hot topic. There is no doubt that this is one of the most common cosmetic procedures of 2016, and  I guess that the rest of the aesthetic practitioners realised that too and wanted as much information as Dr Olha could offer as possible! It was also a great opportunity for people to see what Cosmetic Courses had to offer.

We were lucky enough to run into a colleague that Dr. Olha had not seen in many years, Dr. Mariya Serheyeva. Having spent much of the day with her, I was lucky enough to receive a PRX-T33, a  skin application that doesn’t involve injections which regenerates skin thoroughly without any peeling or flaking of the epidermis. I’ll speak more about this on another blog.

It thinned out towards the end of the day, but we were able to see some live demonstrations but highly thought of clinicians, which included dermal fillersthreads and profhilo which will be coming to our clinic very soon. We  were lucky enough to speak with a lot of people that day and gain a lot of valuable knowledge. Catching up with Robert from Skin Med was great, and I can’t wait to try ‘Fillast Lips’ which he kindly gave me.
It  was a long, exhausting, exciting day which was a huge learning curve. We both thoroughly enjoyed the day, and can’t wait to do it all again next year, where hopefully I’ll be more prepared and more experienced within this field.
